Waste carriers on a public register, companies at Companies House

The registers that matter here are general ones; one specific duty concerns firms that take waste away.

Waste carriers
In England, a business that transports waste must register as a waste carrier and then appears in the Environment Agency’s public register; Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have their own processes. Landscapers and cleaners who take waste from a client’s site should check whether this applies.
Companies House
Contract cleaning and facilities companies are on the register with a SIC code they chose themselves; the free data snapshot has no phone numbers, emails or websites. Sole-trader window cleaners and gardeners are not registered at Companies House.
The firms’ own details
Firms publish their contact details on their websites and in directories. Our records start from open map data and these websites.

Cleaning, facilities or grounds: the SIC code matters

For cleaning chemicals or machines you want 81.21 and 81.22; for mowers, tools or plants, 81.30. Facilities management firms (81.10) buy services and supplies for the sites they manage and are a target group of their own.

Where a window cleaner or gardener trades as a sole trader, the address may be a home address and the record is personal data under UK GDPR: give the Art. 14 information with a mailing and respect objections.

Sole traders and partnerships in England, Wales and Northern Ireland count as individuals under PECR reg. 2, so marketing emails need consent or a soft opt-in (reg. 22(3)); limited companies are corporate subscribers.
